TrueNorth announces major leadership shakeup amid company revamp

Iowa-based TrueNorth Companies has announced a series of leadership changes aimed at reinforcing the firm’s position as a leading risk management and insurance brokerage.

Effective January 2024, TrueNorth has appointed Robynn Westphal (pictured above, left) as chief legal officer. In her new role, Westphal oversees a wide range of legal responsibilities including contracting, negotiations, insurance policy analysis, and regulatory issues.

Previously serving as general counsel and lead counsel for TrueNorth’s transportation division, Westphal brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the firm’s operations to her new position.

Chris Gulker (pictured above, middle) has, meanwhile, been promoted to executive vice president of transportation, where he will lead the strategic direction of TrueNorth’s transportation division. Gulker’s tenure at TrueNorth spans over a decade, during which he has significantly contributed to the division’s growth and success.

Samantha Rogers (pictured above, right) has joined TrueNorth as vice president of human resources, a role announced last December. Rogers brings a wealth of experience in human resources management, promising to enhance TrueNorth’s workplace culture and commitment to employee development.

In addition to these appointments, Trent Tillman has transitioned to president and chief revenue officer from his previous role as executive vice president of the transportation division. Randy Rings, former chief legal officer, will continue to serve on the board as secretary and has taken on the role of managing director in TrueNorth’s First MainStreet platform, working closely with executive vice president Dru Bridges.

The moves are part of TrueNorth’s long-term vision to ensure the company’s continued success and legacy in the industry.
