Johnson & Johnson acquires book of business from Insurance House


Following the closure of the transaction, Insurance House will retain its brand name and exclusive relationship with Southern General Agents.

“This acquisition of this personal lines book of business by Johnson & Johnson, a leading specialist in both commercial lines and personal lines products, will continue the Insurance House dedication to servicing the needs of our partner agencies,” said Insurance House president and CEO Jacqueline Schaendorf. “Johnson & Johnson has partnerships with many of the Insurance House appointed retail agencies and they will be ready to build new partnerships with the remainder of the agencies represented in the personal lines book of business.”

“Adding this personal lines book of business to J&J will build on existing partnerships as well as adding new agency partnerships,” said Johnson & Johnson CEO Francis Johnson. “This will in turn enhance our overall base of business in Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington D.C.”

“We plan to bring a new level of technology and ‘ease of doing business’ to all agencies writing business in this personal lines book of business,” added Johnson & Johnson president and COO Harry Johnson.

In June, Johnson & Johnson acquired the wholesale brokerage & binding as well as the managing general underwriting units of Midlands Management Corporation. The two units focus on specialty lines of coverage for both personal and commercial lines of business on an admitted and non-admitted E&S basis.
