Open enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace^® begins on October 1, but in the meantime you can create a Health Insurance Marketplace^® account on HealthCare.gov right now to get ready.

Get started in 3 easy steps:

1. Provide some basic information like your name, address, and email address
2. Choose a username and password
3. Create security questions for added protection

You won’t be able to start your application for Marketplace insurance until October 1. But by creating an account now you’ll be one step closer to applying for coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace^®, comparing plans side-by-side, and enrolling in a plan.

Remember that you can apply for coverage and enroll as soon as October 1, 2013.
